As you can see from the picture, I grew up around gardening and food. I planted my first garden when I was eight years old, my favorite plants to grow were herbs and tomatoes. The memories of picking a ripe tomato off the vine and rushing into the kitchen to wash it, slice it and eat it as part of a BLT sandwich on a hot summer evening won’t escape me. And it brings me such joy to watch my own two children do the same.
As a registered dietitian nutritionist, my goal is to connect families to their food through engaging photography and stories. Learning about the origin of food and how it makes it to our plates is a fascinating adventure that can be shared. Bringing families together from the garden, to the kitchen and finally to the table is my specialty.
I’ll share the path of food from the field to the fork as often as I can and include ideas about growing, cooking and eating together.
